Laura Blake - Volunteers / Workshops

Laura has been a member of Pride of Indy since its beginning in 2005. She has been a frequent board member and is now the Artistic Director for the Pep and Jazz Bands. Laura is also a four-year member of the LGBA Board.

Sam Cantor Co-Chair

Sam has been a member of Pride of Indy since 2011 and has made a big impact in a short time. He is our board President and was VP before that. He has by far recruited more members to the band than anyone else and has been to several LGBA functions.

Ray Dobell - Fundraising and Socials

Joining the band in 2012, Ray brought with him an enthusiasm that still endures. His day job is to be a music teacher and he will be responsible for our socials and will assist with fundraising. Ray attended his first conference in Atlanta.

Jef Furr - Artistic

Jef is truly a great addition to our team. Jef began his career as a very successful high school music teacher. He spent several years as an employee of Music Travel Consultants and recently became an owner of that organization.

Alicia Gahimer - Hotel

Alicia joined the Pride of Indy Bands in 2012 and became a member of the board in 2013. She spent a career in the military where she learned all about band operations and is now putting those learnings to use with us.

Bill Leschorn - Operations

Bill is our current Past President and has been in the band since 2005. He has attended several LGBA conferences and helped plan the 2010 conference in Indy.

Aaron Rambo - Registration

Aaron will be our dedicated Registration person. He joined the band in 2006 and has held many board positions since then. Aaron has attended many LGBA events.

Shelly Snider Co-Chair

Shelly is a founding member of the Pride of Indy Bands and was the band’s first President. She currently holds the title of Vice President. She has been to all LGBA conferences since 2005 except for Seattle when she was pregnant with her son Mason.

Pride of Indy Bands was formed in the Spring of 2005 to march in the Indy Pride parade in downtown Indianapolis.

Formed with the guidance and assistance of members of other Lesbina and Gay Band Association (LGBA) Bands, this group flourished and became an inspiration for new groups to form across the country.

With a mission statement that says we will serve as a musical and educational resource to the LGBT community and conduct our activities in a supportive atmosphere, the Pride of Indy Bands encourages new members.
