Chris Forsythe - Conductor

Chris Forsythe - Conductor

Chris has always had a passion for music and currently serves as the conductor for Pride of Indy Concert Band. He grew up in Indy playing tuba in the Avon band program. He studied music education at Ball State and after graduating, became the Director of Bands at Lone Oak High School in KY and Assistant Director of Bands at Pendleton Heights High School. He now works for Music Travel Consultants and has remained active in the Indy music scene.

Pete Nowlen - Conductor

Pete Nowlen - Conductor

Pete has been a member of the UC Davis faculty since 1988 and the California State faculty since 1990. He was a member of the French horn section of the Sacramento Symphony for nine years. Orchestral conducting credits include the Sacramento Symphony, UC Davis Symphony Orchestra and others. Nowlen has been band director at UC Davis since 2002 and is currently the Artistic Director for the San Francisco Lesbian and Gay Freedom Band.

Dr. Justin Stolarik - Conductor

Dr. Justin Stolarik - Conductor

Dr. Justin R. Stolarik has served as the Assistant Director of the Marching Band and Assistant Director of Bands at The University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Stolarik has taught and arranged for marching bands throughout Florida, Texas, and Arkansas, as well as for the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps. He holds a bachelor's degree with highest honors in Music Education from The University of Florida, and master's and doctorate degrees in Percussion Performance from The University of Texas.

Richard Saucedo - Commision Composer

Richard Saucedo - Commision Composer

Richard is the recently retired Director of Bands at Carmel High School in Indiana. Under his direction, Carmel received numerous state and national honors in the areas of concert, jazz and marching. Mr. Saucedo is also a freelance arranger and composer. He is currently on the writing staff for the Hal Leonard Publishing Corporation. His concert band works have been performed all over the world. He did his undergraduate work at Indiana University and finished his master's degree at Butler Univ.

Gail Lewis - Soloist

Gail Lewis - Soloist

Dr. Gail Lewis joined the faculty at Butler University in 1997. She received a Doctorate in performance from the University of Wisconsin, a Masters in performance from the Eastman School of Music, and a Bachelors in performance and music theory from Capital University. She is an active freelance performer with orchestras and chamber groups throughout the Southeast and the Midwest. Dr. Lewis conducts clinics and master classes at many high schools in Indiana.

Melissa Williams - Soloist

Melissa Williams - Soloist

Melissa Williams is a member of the faculty at Butler University, where she teaches low brass and music theory and coaches brass chamber ensembles. She maintains a large teaching studio and works professionally as a free-lance musician throughout the midwest. Having received her bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Evansville and a master's degree in performance from the University of Michigan, Melissa continued her studies at Indiana University in the doctoral program.
